Originally invited as guest of honour, Musk joined the Tel Aviv summit remotely (it was 2:30 AM in Austin), citing preparations for the SpaceX IPO. On stage he was interviewed by Daniella Gera-Margaliot of the Ministry of Transport, alongside Transport Minister Miri Regev and Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua. Musk predicted that within 5–10 years about 90% of distance driven will be autonomous, described Full Self-Driving as feeling 'like the car is alive', and said that on innovation per capita 'Israel must be number one by far in the world'.
