i lasted a whole 6 hours without commenting on the trans stuff but i can't hold back any longer

Given that Trump really likes to publicly reverse course on decisions of prior administration, someone should tell him about the current end of life plan for ISS and how he could ‘save the most expensive thing built by humans‘.
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 5 déc. 2024
The ISS requires a lot of care and feeding. Time to say goodbye and move on to the Moon and Mars.

Whole Mars Catalog@wholemars· 5 déc. 2024Tesla FSD 13.2 vs Waymo!
I had FSD and Waymo do the same drive — same start point, same end point. Both arrived with 0 interventions but the Tesla had fewer awkward moments and arrived in 15m40s while the Waymo took 43 minutes — nearly 3x longer.

Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal· 5 déc. 2024🇸🇬 SINGAPORE’S BABY CRISIS: WILL ROBOTS SAVE THE DAY?
Singapore’s birth rate has hit rock bottom—just 0.97 kids per woman, far below the 2.1 needed to sustain a population.
Translation? More seniors, fewer workers, and a shrinking labor force.

Starlink’s giant latency advantage is the real killer.
Current Starlink satellites at ~550km are ~65 times closer than geosynchronous satellites.
Our next generation satellites will be at ~350km, so >100 times closer.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt· 5 déc. 2024NEWS: A new report by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) found that @Starlink delivers significantly faster data speeds and lower latency compared to Australia's National Broadband Network (NBN) Sky Muster satellite service.
