For reference, the entire US runs on only ~0.5 TERAWATT of electricity.

Formal announcement of the TERAFAB project, which will be done jointly by @SpaceX and @Tesla, tonight around 8pm CT. Livestream on 𝕏. The goal is to produce over a TERAWATT of compute per year (logic, memory & packaging) with ~80% for space and ~20% for the ground.

If the average chip is 1 kW, this would be 1 billion chips a year. Assuming this is about five years away, at that point Tesla will hopefully be making 100 units of Optimus a year and 20 million cybercabs a year, for a total of 140 million chips. That means over 800 million

The largest data center in the world is planned to be built in Ohio, and it'll cost up to $40,000,000,000 to construct. The 3,700 acre center will require 10 Gigawatts, 1/3 of Ohio's entire power grid capacity, to run.

Most people will probably miss that this chart is log scale Meaning it shows a 10,000X reduction in cost This is quite literally insane. Engineering is magic.

Lots of “impossible” things suddenly seem inevitable when costs come down by a few orders of magnitude. This happened with batteries, and people still haven’t realized it.

It’s actually insane what SpaceX is doing to the space industry right now In 1981, it cost ~$65,000 to put 1 kg into orbit For 50 years, the industry accepted this as the standard. Reusable rockets were "impossible" Then one company - led by a man obsessed with getting humanity

We do indeed need to chimp about this. Debanking illegals is the kind of tactic that can actually work at scale. ICE agents cannot manually round up every illegal. We need to induce self-deportations. Trump needs to tell the banks to stuff it and issue the order.

Grok Imagine's image generation is optimized for speed, producing a large number of varied results for each prompt. That's useful, but I would love to see a "quality mode" which takes longer to render, but yields better results. How about it, @xai?

𝕏 has removed the "Proofread" feature, which was available in the web UI when you clicked the Grok button while writing a post! Instead, clicking the Grok button now opens an image gen feature. The "proofread" feature was useful. Is it a victim of the anti-AI crusade? 🤨
