It’s morally wrong to not commute to work in a Tesla
CNBC@CNBC· 17 mai 2023Elon Musk says work-from-home is "morally wrong" — here's why.

There are some jobs that can be done effectively at home, but it is super out of touch to suggest that most people should do so, given that it is impossible.
That’s why I likened it to “Let them eat cake”.

I mostly agree with that statement, but talk is cheap – results are what matter.
Downtown SF & LA, for example, are *not* how we want civilization to end up. They are like a low energy version of Mad Max / Last of Us.

Comic book analogies are obviously imperfect, to say the least. Just because George Soros can bend metal using his mind doesn’t mean he’s Magneto!!

I feel like we're living in a society that's caught between two puritanical extremes. The far-left wants to police your thoughts and speech to ensure that it's perfectly polite and offends no one. No wrong-think allowed. Meanwhile those on the righteous right, claim to want to be

SCOOP: The DC bar will require all applicants to wear masks when they sit for the city’s 12-hour bar exam in July.
The requirement comes on the heels of a study that found masks can cause "difficulty concentrating” and "reduced cognitive performance.”🧵

In fairness, I must concede that Joel has a good point and I will endeavor to be more thoughtful in the future.
Comic book analogies are obviously imperfect, to say the least. Just because George Soros can bend metal using his mind doesn’t mean he’s Magneto!!
Anyway, my actual concern with Soros is that he has funded so many politicians & DAs who are soft even on violent crime, which has caused great damage to many cities imo.
Also, while I am very much in favor of expanding legal immigration, we must have some vetting of who comes in, so that we do not allow dangerous felons to prey upon innocent Americans.

Me to my father-in-law (who is a farmer): "What determines whether food is organic?"
Father-in-law: "There are some standards in theory.
In reality a purchase order comes in with two sets of prices, and the farmer decides which box they'll check."

Was the Internet Archive manipulated for nepotistic reasons?
Paul D. Thacker@thackerpd· 18 mai 20233. The month prior, Taylor Lorenz got this tiny account banned. Surprise!
The account detailed Lorenz as a Manhattan rich girl, who attended Swiss boarding school, and whose uncle owns Internet Archive, thus erasing her past.
