No, I never said that.
I told everyone who asked in the beginning that I thought the probability of OpenAI beating Google was ~1%. Infinitely different from 0%.
After the DotA win, I raised the win probability to ~10%.

In late 2020, Tim Lillicrap and I started the computer control project at DeepMind. We wanted to create agents that interact with computers via mouse/keyboard/pixels. We (esp. @p_humphreys) made some good progress but it was early days for general agents. Time to go back.

It’s not about “compensation”, but about me having enough influence over Tesla to ensure safety if we build millions of robots.
If I can just get kicked out in the future by activist shareholder advisory firms who don’t even own Tesla shares themselves, I’m not comfortable with that future.
