Does making a bunch of tunnels underground not compromise the overall integrity of the infrastructure or does the reinforcements for the tunnels actually make it all stronger? I imagine an effect of a mole digging holes in my lawn when i think of a lot of tunnels below me lol

So long as the tunnels are spaced about one diameter apart, most of the stress will flow around them, but this won’t matter for the first few layers
