This is exactly how we escalate a situation toward nuclear Armageddon. Now, Russia is forced to begin its own nuclear drills, which will trigger NATO countries to increase their LERTCON level, which will trigger Russia to do the same... until we're all on a nuclear hair-trigger.

The problem with that logic is if we were dealing with reasonable people, we wouldn’t have war in the first place.
