Two facts: 1) It’s illegal to build apartments in 74% of San Francisco today. 2) 54% of existing San Francisco homes are in buildings that would be illegal to build today.

Literally how is it possible that in San Francisco 71.41% of housing units were built in 1969 or earlier. I know the NIMBY situation there is bad but they continually manage to fall below my already rock bottom expectations.
