.@POTUS signs an Executive Order to push the @USTreasury to modernize its payments system, in order to reduce waste, fraud and abuse:

This Executive Order is a super big deal:
– Gets rid of all of the 47 “independent” payment systems and centralizes.
– Makes use of the Do Not Pay list of fraudulent entities mandatory.
– Shares data within government for fraud detection.
– Checks that funds are available in budget before paying.
– Requires budget IDs and EINs.
Super basic stuff that should already have been in place. This greatly enables stopping fraud and waste.
