It’s a development rocket. So is New Glenn, by the way, which definitely can’t take 45 tonnes to LEO right now. SLS Block 1 can’t do 95 tonnes to LEO because the ICPS couldn’t take it, and it can’t do any payloads to LEO anyway because the only two remaining flights it will ever

Thanks to this update by @SpaceX, we now know that the claimed payload capacity of Starship v2 is about 35 t to LEO, which is less than @blueorigin’s New Glenn (45 t) or @NASA’s SLS Bk1 (95 t), both of which actually went to orbit successfully at the first try.

This utter moron also doesn’t understand that Starship is designed to be fully reusable, unlike pointless rockets that are not. In expendable mode, add at least 100 metric tons to the payload capability.
