Always a sign of a system that works when you try to stop people leaving.
I worry that in the decades to come this is going to be done against space colonisation. Parasitic states and going to hate their best flee to another planet even more than them fleeing to another country.

Its effect in deterring new arrivals, of course, would likely far outweigh any gain. Which is why it's important to have the debate
