Because of the Big Bang!
For photons with extremely large energy the Universe is opaque. They would annihilate with cosmic microwave background photons and produce a shower of less energetic particles before they could travel anywhere
Anastasia@demystifysci· Nov 3, 2025gamma rays are the shortest wavelength of light, on the order of 10-12 meters.
planck length, the allegedly smallest unit of the universe, is 10-35 meters.
how come we don't see light down to planck wavelengths? is it a detector problem, or a limit of the universe?
