I was joking when I called Grokipedia The Foundation.
But now Elon is talking about making it permanent and in space.
Does he just read every science fiction book and decide “yep, okay, that’s the business plan, we just do that!” 😂

The goal here is to create an open source, comprehensive collection of all knowledge.
Then place copies of that etched in a stable oxide in orbit, the Moon and Mars to preserve it for the future.
Foundation.

Oh, because Wikipedia’s process is sooo transparent and not at all a black box! Nobody is coordinating behind the scenes! Wikipedia has rules against meatpuppetry (off-Wikipedia coordination)—it’s not allowed! So it hardly ever happens! Of course the contributors are just
Hawk@Kwah_P· Oct 28, 2025@lsanger Evaluating whether an article "seems OK" misses the point entirely. The issue isn't surface palatability. It's surrendering verifiable, transparent methodology for black-box AI owned by someone openly hostile to institutional knowledge. Process determines truth-seeking capacity.

Check out
Thomas Slabbers@Thomasslabbers· Oct 28, 2025Grokipedia isn’t just "updated Wikipedia”, it shows what was wrong, why it was wrong, and what got fixed.
Highlight any line, flag it, add context, and Grok reconsiders in real time.
Human judgment with AI could result in the best and most complete source of truth if we continue

structed to stick to the facts. So it doesn’t matter if an army of people try to falsely flag “issues”, Grok won’t make changes if it’s not backed by facts / credible sources. I’m sure it won’t be perfect, especially not in the beginnen, but it’s the best attempt I know of

Wired, The Atlantic, Guardian and many other propaganda legacy publications would die immediately if they had to support themselves. Donations from far left organizations disguised as charities are what keep them alive.
They serve simply as a means of influencing Wikipedia, Google, etc as fake “authoritative” sources.

I think Grokipedia’s strength lies in surfacing hard-to-find information, which makes it especially valuable for NGOs. Its weakness, though, will be in countering widely distributed narratives. But that's a weakness for all AI in general.

Very useful site. Need more competition in the encyclopedia space.
Some suggestions for the xAI team:
- Intro paragraphs, stats, and sub menus are the biggest strength of Wikipedia.
- Blue links to first mentions of related topics are the second biggest strength of Wikipedia.

My initial impression, looking at my own article and poking around here and there, is that Grokipedia is very OK. The jury's still out as to whether it's actually better than Wikipedia. But at this point I would have to say "maybe"!
