The birth rate you see in the West is the BLENDED number of ~90% who have a fertility rate half that of replacement and ~10% who have a birth rate double that of replacement.

To add my tuppence to the “rapidly reusable” heat shield debate; one advantage SpaceX has is that they don’t have astronauts on board Starship so can take risks that were unacceptable with the Shuttle; they can refly a heat shield with some damage, like we saw on S40, just to see
