An initial startup idea can't usually be both grand and precise. In practice they're usually either grand and vague or precise and small. Precise and small is better. You know who your initial users are, and you expand outward. With grand and vague you can't even get started.

I've inspected the open-sourced Grok Build so you don't have to. Here's exactly what data it sends (and what stays local):
Core (unavoidable)→ Your prompts/conversations + tool calls go to xAI's inference API. That's the whole point of the CLI.
Everything else is off by default — no Mixpanel, no Sentry, no product telemetry unless you explicitly turn it on. Even the auto-update check is a simple version GET you can disable in config.
Purely local stuff (crash reports, debug logs, secret redaction, auth) never touches the network. All telemetry paths also scrub secrets before anything is sent.

An important piece from Demis. We need more of this kind of thinking. A good reminder that the goal is a frontier ecosystem that promotes innovation and choice, while avoiding any one model drop that breaks the world!

Look at these photos
Falcon 9 soaring into the sky. Falcon Heavy and Starship ready for the next mission. Starlink antennas simple, clean, ready for any terrain. The Boring Company’s machine that looks like industrial sculpture. Futuristic tunnels full of Teslas. And the man whose vision stands behind it all.
It’s not a coincidence. It’s not just “technology.”
It’s class itself.
Zero unnecessary ornaments. Zero exaggeration. Just a pure, very high-quality product. You hold it in your hand, step inside, or look at it and immediately feel that everything is refined to the last detail. It works. It looks right. It lasts.
Elon Musk has this rare quality: he’s a man with class. He doesn’t flaunt luxury or add things just “because they photograph well.” He chooses simplicity but the kind that’s executed perfectly. And he transferred exactly that same philosophy to his companies.
The result? Engineering at the level of fashion. Design that’s modern yet has timeless elegance. Products that don’t just do the job they impress with their quality and quiet confidence.
It’s no accident that the rocket looks like a work of art.
That a Tesla interior feels minimalist yet luxurious.
That a Starlink dish looks like it was designed by someone who understands aesthetics, not just connectivity.
They all share one common thread: class.
Not the loud, flashy kind.
The real kind quiet, self-assured, and uncompromising.
If you value things that are simply well-made without unnecessary bling, but full of character and top-tier quality this is the essence of what Elon has built.

Top computer chip equipment maker ASML said its capacity expansion plans in 2027 and 2028 unveiled today take into account demand for its tools from Elon Musk's planned Terafab chip production facility in Texas.
"We're in dialogue with all our customers and we know ... what their building plans are," CFO Roger Dassen said on a call. "Terafab is also part of those plans."
Dassen also said ASML was close to fully booking its 2027 EUV capacity and had already secured a substantial number of 2028 extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) orders.
