I'm confused, and more as to why I don't see this mentioned in the comments:
Why did you have an amethyst charm equipped when you specifically chose Chaos Innoculation in the tree? You chose CI to be immune to chaos damage; therefore, literally any other charm goes in the slot.

I had just selected the Chaos Inoculation passive skille and forgot to my charm to freeze immunity
