@elonmusk thoughts on the pandemic speeding tech advancement overall? In times of crisis humanity tends to focus attention on tech. Do you see this happening?

Here’s my math based on the OIG report. If NASA buys the rockets at $875 million and yearly program costs are $325, that would come up with about $3B a year... wait. Is that $875m price per rocket ONLY for the core?!? 🤯

What’s troubling is that this doesn’t get humanity a base on the moon or even a small crewed Mars mission

do you think the unintended demonstration of what the world can look like when we halt carbon emissions makes any of the craziness worth it?

Knowing what we now know about RS-25 engine costs ($146 million each); using Tory’s formula below, the true cost of an SLS launch is about $3.5 billion. I would not doubt it.
Tory Bruno@torybruno· 3 мая 2020 г.General industry rules of thumb. Plus or minus company to company. Rocket is 1/2 the launch service cost, booster is 1/2 the rocket, engines are 2/3s the booster

Who is running this lame collection of bots & trolls anyway? Try harder! I’m an engineer, knucklehead. Just do “business” on the side.

I think I could do that, if I wasn’t otherwise occupied. Certainly someone can. But local multiplayer for people in the car, or online multiplayer? I don’t think Minecraft on a Tesla is the best fit in terms of UX but a driving version of Pokémon Go-like mechanics would work.

Is superheavy being designed right now?
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 3 мая 2020 г.
A little. Will have 31 engines, not 37, no big fins and legs similar to ship. That thrust dome is the super hard part. Raptor SL thrust starts at 200 ton, but upgrades in the works for 250 ton.

Anyone think they can get a good multiplayer Minecraft working on Teslas? Or maybe create a game that interacts virtually with reality like Pokémon Go while driving safely? Like a complex version of Pac-man or Mario Kart?

It is high time that humanity went beyond Earth. Should have a moon base by now and sent astronauts to Mars. The future needs to inspire.
