Hey @elonmusk hoping you check your mentions (I know you know Peterborough!) we are studying AI in HUMA committee and I think you would be a valuable witness. Please let me know if you’re interested and available! Happy to message someone more formally to ask as well!

Just 8 cents per month!
Creating bot accounts will be significantly more challenging now. It would require 100 credit cards to make 100 bot accounts.

NEW: X will begin charging new users $1 a year to access key features, including the ability to like, bookmark, create list, post, and repost, according to Forbes.
Musk floated the idea, by saying: “It’s the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.”

Presumably, users will still be able to create read only accounts for free.
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 18 окт. 2023 г.
Correct, read for free, but $1/year to write. It’s the only way to fight bots without blocking real users.
This won’t stop bots completely, but it will be 1000X harder to manipulate the platform.

Google should penalize such websites for spreading lies and false information.
𝕏 is literally at an all-time time usage and has grown massively in this one year in every aspect.

Good moves. I notice that the sensitive content warnings are hit or miss. Sometimes something as simple as a fender bender gets marked as being sensitive while porn videos are not. I think a community notes type system for appeals and reporting could be interesting.

This will get much better over time.
We are also moving almost all actions to be temporary suspensions, with permanent bans being extremely rare.
