I am totally fine with bringing in the Top 0.1% of talent which is at most a few thousand engineers. I think most on the right are fine with this.
What I’m not fine with is expanding H-1B or removing country caps for green cards which is the entire reason this kicked off.

Just a reminder that the algorithm is trying to maximize unregretted user-seconds.
If far more credible, verified subscriber accounts (not bots) mute/block your account compared to those who like your posts, your reach will decline significantly.

Don't confuse the DEI and skilled immigration debates.
Your white, high-achieving son being unable to advance in society is due to DEI.
This needs to be dismantled.
But being pro-skilled immigration is also an anti-DEI position.
Competence and hard work above all.

Clarification: When we're talking about the top 1% of engineers, it does not include that guy in another country who works in tech support and couldn't help you that time.
We don't need more of that guy. AI will take over tech support soon anyway.

My father came here as an immigrant getting a degree in physics. He then produced 69 US patents for GE and IBM. He also had two sons who love this country and work hard to make it a little bit better for our own children. ⬆️🇺🇸

The reason the government so insanely inefficient is that those in the government are spending your money on somebody else.
That’s why we should minimize how much the government does. It is simply a giant version of the DMV!

USCIS just denied my US green card application.
claiming my work lacks impact "beyond that of Apple, Inc." -- even though they acknowledge that I am the Apple CTO.
WTF? I have NEVER worked at Apple!
I got my cs PhD, cofounded an AI startup, and raised $20M. Yet, after waiting

This is insane 🤦♂️
I was denied an exceptional ability green card after selling my first Internet company, Zip2, for over $300M in cash within 4 years of finishing my undergrad, and where I was the founder, chairman & CTO!
They only gave it to me after PayPal.
