IMHO this is primarily because the *benefits* of AI are still spread on an *extreme* power law distribution. A few people, primarily in tech, are reaping enormous windfalls, while for the vast majority of the population AI seems extremely nebulous, at best.

A lot of this is simply downstream from most couples voluntarily gendering their task roles.
