Twitter Architecture 2022 vs. 2012. What’s changed over the past 10 years?
Thank you, @elonmusk for the transparency.

Notes from last night:
- Maybe deprecate TLS this week, as only needed if Android app >1 year old.
- Home mixer computes Home ~10X faster than Timeline.
- Ad mixer can greatly improve relevance at cost of lower total ad views. More interesting the ad, more time you look at it.

Most accurate would be to require access to phone GPS for location-specific polls

Which brings up another point. Hey, @ElonMusk, can you add an option in poll feature to open a poll only to Twitter users with IP addresses from a specific country?
Or, once Blue verification becomes fully setup, make polls based on where the BlueCheck user’s city is?

Bot & troll armies might be running out of steam soon. Some interesting lessons to clean up future polls.

Tony (rest in power) would pay folks to quit @Zappos after training/early on for everyone’s benefit
It was the kindest thing you could do for employees who didn’t want to continue but who needed some runway to find a new gig

The leftist bots who dont want free speech are starting to attack the poll! It used to be at 80% supporting his accounts reinstatement but now it is at 52%... please stop these bots and save free speech!

With 116.6 million followers, your polls are starting to become statistically significant. What if Twitter had an "All Users" poll that you could push to every single twitter account to find out what the entire network is thinking, with no particular adverse selection? 🤔
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 19 нояб. 2022 г.
When polls are about a significant question, even those who don’t follow me tend to hear about it. That said, I agree with the idea of an all-user poll. Should also be an all-user by country poll.

Focus on engineering. Improve:
- Catching bots
- Ads recommendation
- Intuitive edit button
- Video/audio content hosting
- Monetization for creators
- Search and discovery of content
- Smarter comment ordering
I have opinions on what's most important, but don't know details.

Alex Jones is the litmus test, @elonmusk. Not just on the issue of freedom of speech, but on the issue of not bending the knee to political and judicial intimidation. If this is a hard "no", your Twitter will never be any more trustworthy than @paraga or @Jack's twitter.
