Has Tesla experimenting with using radar return intensity to assess surface smoothness (ideally over different wavelengths)? Could be really useful data for the NN, e.g. to detect changes in traction ahead (water, ice, sand, leaves, potholes, washboard, etc).

Reality looks like a strange ghost-world at radar wavelengths. Almost everything except metal is translucent.
