One way to disclose you never studied physics seriously is to recommend “Feynman’s lectures” as a good physics book. The real deal know it is and it will always be Landau-Lifshitz.

It isn’t clear to me why people like Feynman’s physics lectures so much. I found them to be ok, but not great. Wouldn’t recommend them either to those who want to learn physics or those who have.
His non-physics books, like “Surely you’re joking …” are great.
