Russia for sure will not rest until all oblasts incorporated into the Russian constitution (Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia) are taken.
That is their stated policy.

The local insurgency to Russian occupation would be extreme in any region that isn’t Russian-speaking and part of the Orthodox Church.
Taking western Ukraine or the Baltics would also cause full NATO mobilization, with a very bad outcome for Russia. They know that.
