If the Democrats controlling the White House will enable tyranny, why don't they just do it now? They already control the White House.

They are doing it by importing vast numbers of migrants into the country.
This achieves two things:
1. The census, coming up in 2030 counts all persons, regardless of citizenship, in a state for purposes calculating seats in the House and electoral college votes. Based on current trends, that would mean a gain of over 15 seats in favor of Democrats. Lack of control of the House is all that’s holding them back and they will likely have a permanent majority after that census.
2. Of the ~15 million illegals, some percentage every year gain citizenship. In the “asylum” program, which has exploded in size, citizenship is automatically granted after 5 years. This administration has placed large groups in the program in swing states. The margin of victory in those states is often below 10,000. Even 1% of 15 million (and growing) becoming legal every year is 600,000 every four years.
The regulatory state, which is oppressing progress, and the use of lawfare against individuals and companies have grown tremendously under this administration. There is no chance of getting humanity to Mars, unless there is regulatory reform.
