I agree Martians should self-determine. And direct democracy is the way to go.
Democracy is vulnerable to the madness of crowds and mind viruses, so they’d also benefit from a Martian Constitution that protects individual rights and pro-human values.
Need an AI Constitution too

Uncrewed Starships landing on Mars in ~2 years, perhaps with crewed versions passing near Mars, and crewed Starships heading there in ~4 years are all possible.
