The sadism on this platform, and the internet in general, is appalling. I have multiple dear friends in topanga whose houses are burning down *as we speak* and I’m being verbally abused for… what exactly? My tweet was an apolitical expression of my sadness, nothing more. And yet

It’s easy for someone to spin up hundreds or thousands of bot accounts and just troll for attention.
Unfortunately, I think the only solution is limiting replies to verified users or those you follow.
Or just thoroughly ignore unverified craziness.
