i've come to realize that unless we get full-on Superintelligence in the next 10-20 years, economic growth is going to come to an end and civilization more than likely collapses shortly thereafter

Birth rate collapse is a natural tendency for civilizations that experience an extended period of prosperity with no major external threat. The Romans debated and lamented this endlessly.
