Every Starship that has started a controlled reentry has survived intact, able to flip and land, despite the efforts of SpaceX to intentionally compromise the heat shield
Vindicates the choice of stainless steel, but it may be an issue that they haven’t yet found the limit.

Stainless steel for ftw. Lot of progress on heat shield design, but this is something we will need to iterate on for a long time.
