The average taxpaying citizen does not receive anything close to the value in services that they pay in taxes. The common examples - roads, cops, schools, etc - are a tiny fraction of your tax burden. No one my age thinks they’ll get social security. Most of it is just stolen.

You pay taxes, you pay health insurance premiums, but where does the money go?
A lot of it goes to fraud, politics, illegal immigrants, and corporations that do nothing for you.
