That’s a reasonable assessment. My point is that schools have gone too far, especially in “blue” states, and parents are not aware of how bad it is.
A wide array of knowledge, along with critical thinking, should be taught to all children.

Sometimes the less smart people aren't deliberately doing it to seem smarter, but because they come from a place with a culture of talking that way (presumably inspired by some genuinely smart people). E.g. there were a lot of fast talkers around the MIT AI Lab in the 80s.
