Ever since @elonmusk nonchalantly commented on our booster landing that they would "try to catch the booster with the tower", @ErcXspace and I have been debating a few different solutions for a catching mechanism. This one is my favorite so far

You guys know for a fact I'm going to ask Elon ALLLLL about this wacky idea next time we sit and talk. I can't wait to hear what Wile E Coyote ideas they have! Kerbal IRL my friends 😂

Woahhh 😳... you made a switch TO helium that quickly between SN8 and SN9?!? Amazing that you can just make adjustments on the fly... no offense to traditional companies *cough Boeing* but that would've been a 2 year design change + 4 year delay from the drop (see SLS tank drop)

Production is hard, prototypes are easy. Building ~1000 Starships to create a self-sustaining city on Mars is our mission.

Yeah, you could build shock absorbers into the launch stand’s arms without having to worry about any weight penalty.

How're you feeling about SN9? What exactly had to be addressed to keep the CH4 tank from losing pressure? Any hardware changes or just software? Header tanks are also back pressurized with GCH4 and GOX, right?

SN9 will press CH4 header tank with helium. Long-term solution is under debate. Not clear what is lightest/simplest.

Too much material stress on the landing legs for it to land on the pad by itself?

Seems odd that the opposition group is from BMW’s home state of Baveria. That‘s very far from Brandenburg, where Tesla is building the Gigafactory. And why would a group that claims to be pro-environment oppose a sustainable energy factory? Aren’t there more important issues?
