Which moves the question to his son’s motivation. Why would the son of Soros want to make America unlivable?

Beats me. Some amount of ivory tower pseudointellectualism is probably to blame.

The entire situation is bizarre. I frankly wouldn't mind Soros as much if he didn't have apologists labeling all his critics "racists" for daring to notice his role in elections.

Our lifespan is programmed into our genes, just like it is for fruit flies or pets. Fruit are already vegan & even if they do yoga every day & take every supplement, they still only live 50 days.

My hypothesis about Soros is that he is not fully aware of where his money goes or why.

Interesting point, but an example might make it clearer. Can you think of a prominent person who's currently wasting his talents in software when he could be working on manufacturing and heavy industries?

Once prominent, they’re one of the few to have succeeded. Too much talent is chasing software, much like Hollywood has too much talent chasing acting. It’s silly to have 10 talented entrepreneurs all chase same SaaS niche when they could be epically successful in heavy industry.

The striking thing about this list, to me, is the preponderance of software companies. Making physical stuff is hard. But don't let that deter you, if that's what you're interested in. If things go right for Helion, it could be the biggest of the lot.

Major misallocation of capital imo. Most on this list won’t make it. Not enough talent in manufacturing & heavy industries.

On this day in 1983: Apple recruited Pepsi’s John Sculley to be its CEO. Steve Jobs famously asked him: “Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to change the world?”

The other aspect of this is we can also now adjust facial expressions using AI in media we create and pretty much live as well. Think about that..

This is insane. We can now detect feelings in real-time through facial expressions using AI. (Open-sourced code in the next tweet)

We need to predict what pedestrians will do based on their behavior, including limb angle & direction of sight. FSD currently sees all pedestrians as cuboids, so is overly cautious. Also, diffusion seems to be more compute-efficient than transformers for vision.
