Mastodon is hell. And it’s a hell in which every moderator can read your DMs and if they deem you to be talking behind their backs you will get banned. It’s the inverse of Twitter, where people can publicly make fun of @elonmusk and not get banned for it.

It would be great if big media sites (nytimes, wsj, wapo, etc.) collaborated on some kind of joint subscription like there is for music and TV. I don't want to pay for all of them individually but would happily pay a sizable monthly fee to get access to all of them.
