When GM was going bankrupt, @elonmusk was worried Tesla would go under too. He fought hard to save it.
Imagine going back and telling him Tesla would survive, make him the world’s richest man, and that in 12 years his 2021 tax bill would cover the entire cost of the bailout?

The probability of Tesla dying in 2008/2009 was very high. We closed our financing round at 6pm on Dec 24th – the last working hour of the last day before Tesla would otherwise bounce payroll.
