INSIGHT: Here's why Elon changed Twitter's metrics from mDAU to user-seconds of screentime.
The old mDAU metric:
- included bots
-included e.g people who got a Twitter notification on their phone but didn't open the app
The new metric is much harder to manipulate.

Exactly, it is hardest to fool.
Troll farms can still manipulate screentime via humans with lots of phones, but that is >100 times more expensive than bots.
