The further emphasis on Video content also follows Elon's known focus on making X into a much more video-centric platform.
The prior versions of the algo had a relatively small boost for posts including video content. It appears the latest updates are starting to change this.

Since the algorithm recommends posts based on how much time people spend on them, both video and text content posted on this platform naturally get boosted more than links off platform, as the time spent on a link is short
