I think I get it now. Even plugging a normal router into a backup power supply wouldn't help because the ISP is probably without power too. However, the Satellite is still powered.

you can just hook starlink to a power tool battery and have internet. even that battery will work for 1-3 hours

Any battery or generator will work.
If you have solar and a Tesla Powerwall, your house will have power and Starlink will work indefinitely.
