That’s the amazing thing people don’t think about — passive Autopilot.
Even when you’re driving manually, Autopilot is looking out for you. If it knows how to stay in the lane itself, it can detect when you’re drifting out on manual driving.
So exciting.

A Tesla with NO Autopilot is twice as safe as the average car in the US
A Tesla with Autopilot on is twice as safe as a Tesla being driven manually.
Tesla with Autopilot on can drive almost 10 times further without a crash than the average US car. @elonmusk

Essentially, passive Autopilot (car intervenes only when crash probability is high) cuts crashes in half.
Active Autopilot (car is driving itself) cuts crashes in half again.
Doesn’t mean there are no crashes, but, on balance, Autopilot is unequivocally safer.

Will users always be locked into one location or in the future if a user has the standard Dishy McFlatface (not a new portable one), could you say put it on an RV or tiny home? Or maybe take one you have in Iowa and put it in a studio in Texas 🤔

Yeah, should be fully mobile later this year, so you can move it anywhere or use it on an RV or truck in motion. We need a few more satellite launches to achieve compete coverage & some key software upgrades.
