User-seconds metric is very hard to cheat, as it includes everything: DAU, retention and average session length.
Teams tasked to increase one of those metrics are often forgetting about the other two. User-seconds doesn't let you do that.
It's also much less restrictive in terms

The first two we deleted the image processing tuning that has nothing to do with information.
The last two years simplify the control stack to make it more human like.
Finally we can clean up what’s left.
