Anti Tesla? You haven’t been following my coverage closely. I’m still extremely positive on Tesla. I wrote about 3,000 articles on Tesla over the past 4 years. Maybe 100 have been somewhat negative, yet that’s enough to make me “anti Tesla”?

Can and will @tesla release statistics regarding vehicle fires in it's quarterly safety reports? This could help with transparency and denouncing false information.

Very this. I was shocked at how hard it was to convince my father in law on Easter how Teslas are the safest vehicles on the road. The misinformation campaign is far more pervasive than most realize.

I've always defended Tesla when it comes to fires after crashes and the investigations that followed, but I think coverage of fires starting seemingly on their own without crashes (like when parked or charging) is fair. Those fires definitely need to be investigated right?

Fred, every fire *is* investigated. Problem is those who only write about 0 injury Tesla fires while ignoring fatal combustion car fires or fail to mention any contextual statistics in their article, misleading readers into thinking EV’s have high fire risk when opposite is true.

Over a million combustion engine (it’s right there in the name!) car fires per year & thousands of deaths, but one Tesla car fire with no injuries gets biggest headlines. Why the double standard? This is a real question.

Reality is a Tesla, like most electric cars, is over 500% *less* likely to catch fire than combustion engine cars, which carry massive amounts of highly flammable fuel. Why is this never mentioned?

Frank, that’s not what he said. Watch the event. He said 1 million cars capable of that. Already 400k+ with the hardware capabilities. And he goes into detail as to how they’ll get the software capabilities there by using their data to prep for edge cases

Exactly. By end of this quarter, about half a million Teslas will have full self-driving hardware (pending computer swap) & we will make another half million FSD cars by mid next year.
