I certainly don’t get this analogy, but I continue to admire your many feats. You have been very right about population collapse, which is another reason we probably won’t become the intergalactic species imagined by Iain Banks.

Everyone knows the trillion-dollar version of SpaceX. Almost nobody remembers that Elon's first rocket failed three times, and there was money for exactly only one more attempt.
DO NOT be afraid to fail.

Today, the U.S. is 50% RICHER--despite the EU having 100 million MORE people.
What changed?

We successfully launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope today about 9 months ahead of its formal readiness date.
Today’s Falcon Heavy mission was what we call a RXR mission (return-expendable-return), which signifies that the side boosters are to be recovered by returning to the launch site.
The center core had to be expended today in order to achieve the proper delta-v for the 10 ton telescope to reach L2 - the second Sun–Earth Lagrange point, a spot in space about 1.5 million km from Earth on the far side of our planet from the Sun.

Gavin, spot on.
AI is bringing manufacturing back to America and reindustrializing the nation after decades of offshoring.
AI is creating demand that drives investment in our aging power grid and sustainable energy, powered by market forces, not subsidies.
AI is creating construction and manufacturing jobs across energy plants, chip fabs and data centers.
AI is creating new companies and industries. $400 billion has been invested in AI startups in the past six months alone.
Builders must partner with communities to build in their hometowns, earn trust and create local benefits.
We have an opportunity to create lasting benefits for communities across America and help America lead the next industrial revolution.
Gavin Baker@GavinSBaker· 30. Aug. 2026Regret the tone of my post on data centers yesterday.
What I should have said:
There were reasonable concerns about data centers 18ish months ago: water, taxes, jobs, electricity prices, the environment and what they would do to small towns. Well-structured data center projects

Grok Bot is the closest I’ve felt to the Singularity. 🤯 starts at ¶ 7.
Start using it. Think about what you can do with this new superpower.
You can have 5 very smart people with special skills, working for you.
What would you build?
Be creative. Think big.
It costs less than one minimum wage worker. Thailand minimum wage.
🤯: In 2027 it will cost less and you’ll get 50 workers who are smarter and more capable.
In 2028 it will cost even less, with 1000 even smarter workers, with even more skills.
It will keep getting better.
What will you build?
