C++ is very rarely faster than any other language, and it only is faster when you really really understand what you are doing at key spots. You don't need C++ on everything when maybe 100 spots are what make a difference

Our input bandwidth, thanks to vision, is many orders of magnitude higher than our output bandwidth, but could also be greatly improved.
