the math behind propellant constraints for 1,000 or 10,000 Starship launches a year creates a lot of clarity around SpaceX's recent Starbase, Louisiana purchase.
Today's analysis was all about that:
Here is what i found most interesting...

“Eat liver pie instead”,
replied the commie Marie Antoinette director of the Novocherkassk locomotive plant when the workers asked him how they will afford meat.
The Soviet government had just hiked meat and dairy prices while simultaneously slashing factory wages in 1962.
The wage dispute escalated into an uprising. Marches headed toward the Communist Party HQ, protesters singing revolutionary songs, and holding portraits of Lenin in defense of “real” communism against the Soviet authorities.
So they shot them.
7 organizers were executed, 26 dead were thrown in unmarked graves so there wouldn’t be any public memorials, and people living under the commie regime never found out any of this happened until the Soviet Union fell nearly 30 years later.
Rothmus 🏴@Rothmus· 24. Aug. 2026“But the Nazis weren’t socialists because they crushed labor unions!”
It wasn’t until 1980 that the first independent union was legalized in the Soviet bloc. “Solidarity” in Poland reached 10 million members in a year which was absolutely terrible for the commies.
So in 1981,

189.2 deg, just west of due south, to reach sun synchronous orbit for datacenters in space (the soon-to-be cash cow that will drive everything else). It’s pretty much an ideal launch site.
Kyle Cothern@risknc· 26. Aug. 2026So I have a question...
What inclinations are they gonna fly out of Louisiana?
it looks like they're planning on overflying inhabited areas.
Which, if so, hell yes. Monte Carlo those NIMBYs into yesteryear.

Grok Build made this fun lil Mars simulator game for my nephew.
I gave it simple prompts. It did the rest: wrote systems, built and tested it, studied gameplay, found and fixed bugs, then kept iterating.
Grok Build is very powerful. It feels like having a game studio on demand.

Crucially, Pecan Island is ~30 miles away from the nearest town and 50 miles from a major city.
Starship is insanely loud:
- At 5 miles out, my wife had to cover her ears
- At 12 miles, it sounds like a table saw (good BYU study on this)
- At 20 miles, it sounds like a vacuum

Some back of the napkin math tells me that SpaceX would roughly need to increase global Oxygen production by around 50% a year to meet the launch demands for this site
Starship V3 has a 3.6:1 O/F ratio. Therefore LOX is 3.6/3.6+1 = ~78% of the fuel in weight of both booster and
