Humans react in the second timescale whereas computers operate at the nanosecond timescale
A nanosecond to a second is like a second to 32 years... for a computer, a few seconds are literally lifetimes
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 8. Apr. 2020
Certainly no problem for a 144 trillion operations per second computer to make ~15 steering/acceleration/braking maneuvers per second. That’s a trillion calculations between each output command.

the performance of Autopilot in the latest update is simply incredible.
I can’t believe this is possible with software and cameras
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 8. Apr. 2020
Humans drive using 2 cameras on a slow gimbal & are often distracted. A Tesla with 8 cameras, radar, sonar & always being alert can definitely be superhuman.

CA's 500 ventilators will begin to ship out today:
100->NY
100->NJ
100->IL
50->MD
50->DC
50->DE
50->NV
Committed to the health of every Californian. Practicing our duty as Americans to take care of one another. I know other states would do the same.

How will #Starship land on the moon @elonmusk ? 3 raptors at min throttle is around 300 kN, a Starship FULL of fuel is 2,158,200 kG on the moon, so that's a TWR of 1.5:1 ish. Landing half full, that's 2.7:1 TWR. Cutting down to one Raptor would be offset thrust and no redudnancy.

Aim for zero velocity just above surface & fall. You won’t fall fast.

So apparently that Tesla Kid guy who was flying drones over Gigafactory Berlin almost got arrested the other night
They’re trying to get Tesla to give him permission to keep flying. He had good videos 🤷♂️ youtube.com/watch?v=Vekjd0…

@elonmusk @Tesla @thirdrowtesla Elon, any way we could get a WiFi garage door opening icon. For users that do not have Homelink and do have a WiFi enable garage door, this would be a very useful feature.

Haha parallel staging like that isn’t really worth it. You lose mass fraction efficiencies of scaling up tank size and it ends up being a lot more complicated than just building a bigger rocket. We’ll definitely see an 18m wide Starship before we saw that 👍

Elon, would it be possible to accomplish a mobile app connectivity with the Tesla manufactured ventilators, so that the doctors/nurses can control it from outside the isolation room?
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · 7. Apr. 2020
Probably best to keep control local, but easy to check status from afar
