One thing happening in AI that almost no one is talking about is that self driving cars are almost ready.
The recent Tesla update from a few weeks ago is *unbelievably* good...

The office vacancy rate is probably 50-60% if you count folks riding out their overpriced leases in SF
The tax base will collapse every year until folks feel it’s safe… I think 5 years of chaos and pain
INSIDE@inside· 3. Apr. 2023San Francisco’s rate of population decline was No. 1 among large U.S. counties from July 1, 2020-July 2, 2022. That distinction underscores the challenges the city faces after ending 2022 with a 27% office vacancy rate.

Lol so remember that contractor who got awarded $137 million by a jury for workplace racism while at Tesla?
The judge reduced the award to only $15 million, so he opted for a new trial on damages. They asked for $160 million but the new jury gave them $3 million instead.

@elonmusk · 3. Apr. 2023
If we had been allowed to introduce new evidence, the verdict would’ve been zero imo.
Jury did the best they could with the information they had. I respect the decision.

“The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”

Elon Musk@elonmusk· 3. Apr. 2023@therabbithole It is media’s control of what to write about in the first place that is far more insidious than having some facts wrong in an article

The title of the article is misleading. It's not a government initiative but a proposal from a member of parliament (which won't go anywhere).
